Chapter 8 refers to a set of regulations set by the UK Departments for Transport regarding the use of high-visibility markings on vehicles parked or operating on roads. The rear chevron design aims to enhance conspicuity and improve safety for vehicle and road users. See our easy guide on the Chapter 8 blog for more information on Chapter 8.
Segmented – A segmented kit means you will receive the yellow and red panels individually.
Flooded – you will get the individual red panels and the whole yellow backing panel
Self-assembly – For self-assembly kits, you must organise your panels into number order beforehand. The yellow and the red panels come individually.
Magnetic – a rear chevron kit with magnetic backing. Perfect for temporary use and can be removed without damaging paint. Please note that some pieces shown on magnetic kits may not be suitable for your vehicle. Some vehicles have plastic, aluminium or composite panels and although our kit may include these areas, the magnetic sheet will not stick to these areas.
The best material for your rear chevron kit depends on the type of roads you’ll be driving on.
For high-speed roads (over 40mph) like highways and motorways, we recommend our high-performance prismatic kits. It’s also durable and weather-resistant, as well as having the highest visibility ensuring long-lasting performance.
For slower speeds or occasional use, you might consider engineering-grade materials that offer a more affordable option. However, keep in mind that their reflectivity is lower compared to the prismatic kit.

No, it should not. When a rear chevron kit is applied properly, it should not cause any damage to your vehicle’s paintwork.
Before applying any type of chevron kit, it’s recommended to clean your vehicle using our surface cleaner. You can find the link to the surface cleaner in the resources section.
